Digital tvs are currently capable of filling in frames so that we view closer to 60+ frames a second, rather than 20-40 frames a second, which is typical in tv & film, excluding soap operas and possibly sports.

This is jarring. Because your visual cues are placing you right next to the director or as some have described as at a theatrical play.

We know we are not at those places and so we lose some of that magic of the content. We can’t get lost on GilligansIsland?. This setting needs to be controlled by the viewer.

Sports is more likely to have experiences to draw on from youth / past.

SmoothPursuit may have something to do with this as well.
