One of the many “light” (in quotes) text markup formats. Contrary to vague specifications like the Markdown specification, AsciiDoc is well defined and favoured by authors of technical documentation.
TimurIsmagilov, LionKimbro and Alex Schroeder agree that AsciiDoc is too heavy-weight for a wiki. It is quite complex and universal like LaTeX but is still lighter than it; after all, it doesn’t come with a two gigabytes of libraries.
